Perhaps I've seen too many scary movies, but while hiking in Claremont, CA I came across this storm runoff drain and hurried past it, of course not before I took some pictures. It reminded me of somewhere missing people would turn up years later.
The scenery was rather lovely with wild flowers growing anywhere they pleased, tall grasses gently swaying in a soft breeze, but I wanted the image to really reflect the sense of uneasiness, the curiosity, the sudden overwhelming and irrational fear I felt when I saw it.
