Artist's Description

Upper Kern River nestled in the Sequoia National Forest in Kernville, California 2015.

One of the members of our group being swallowed by a rapid. His head can barely be seen as he slips under the water.

Don't worry, he was wearing a life jacket, and in our opinion, this is the perfect place to do this. We are white water rafters, but there is something magical and exhilarating in experiencing the rapids this way. We also feel it is important to know how to keep calm in a rapid, as you never know when the river will decide to make you a member of the swim team.

I do not recommend you try this, and if you do, it is at your own risk.

Honored by a feature in Fine Art America Group:
